The School of Nursing at Jilin University has been delivering postgraduate nursing programs since 2002, the Doctor of Nursing since 2010, and the Master of Medical Technology from 2020.


1. Master of Nursing Science (MNS)

The course length is generally three years and implements a complete and systematic curriculum. The training includes three aspects: degree course study, clinical (community) nursing practice, and nursing research. The Master of Nursing Science uses a credit-based system, requiring a total credit of 32 credits, including no less than 20 credits for degree courses. Two credits are given for clinical (community) nursing practice (not less than two months), and four credits are assigned to the graduation thesis.


2. Master of Nursing (MN)

The course length is generally three years, and adopts both full-time and part-time learning. The training involves a study course combined with clinical (community) nursing practice, and individual guidance combined with group training. We promote joint guidance by both a college tutor and a clinical hospital tutor. The training includes two aspects: degree course study and clinical (community) nursing practice. A credit-based system is implemented, requiring a total of 32 credits, including no less than 22 credits for the degree courses, and 10 credits for clinical (community) nursing practice.


3. Master of Medical Technology

The training objective of the Master’s degree in Medical Technology is to cultivate high-level research medical technical talents with solid basic knowledge, outstanding practical ability, innovative spirit and humanistic care. We hope to cultivate students' conceptual thinking, ability for independent learning and self-development abilities, as well as be able to use comprehensive analysis and critical thinking to solve specific problems in practice. The course has a broad international vision, based on the needs of national development. By adhering to the spirit of excellence these students can in the future promote the development of medical technology to meet the health needs of the people. The length of study is generally three years, and a complete and systematic curriculum is delivered. . The Master's degree in Medical Technology includes compulsory courses in rehabilitation therapy, imaging technology and laboratory technology (23 in total), and basic courses (12 in total). Compulsory courses must account for no fewer than 12 credits, and the total credits for each research topic must be no fewer than 16 credits.


4. PhD

A PhD degree in nursing generally takes 3~5 years, including public compulsory courses, professional courses, and professional basic courses. To obtain a PhD, no fewer than 12 credits must be attained from compulsory courses, and no fewer than 16 credits from other available courses.. Public compulsory courses are set up by schools, and professional basic courses and professional courses are organized and implemented by nursing colleges. The PhD course offers three public compulsory courses, seven professional foundation courses, and five elective courses.
